If you have tried to throw on the wheel and would like to develop your skills, Janet Searson is one of Ireland’s most skilled throwers, with over 10 years’ study and practical experience in a leading production pottery. In the weekend, you will throw simple shapes, cylinders, bowls and collars, exploring the tactile and textural qualities of throwing. Throughout the day these forms will be altered, decorated, dimpled, marked, stamped etc. you will also assemble your thrown forms making a final sculptural piece, and explore the process of re-throwing pots, adding foot-rings, necks, collars, and extending your existing pots.
