The bride to be makes a pot

Kinsale Pottery and Art School provides tailor-made short courses to suit corporate groups and private parties. These include pottery and painting classes, other crafts such as mosaics and stain glass can be provided by arrangement.

Class sizes may be from 4 to 20 people, two classes may be run concurrently, allowing parties of up to 30 to be catered for. Typically classes last for 3 hours, with refreshment breaks, a day’s course would involve two 3-hour sessions and a 90 minute lunch break. Lunches may be booked with local restaurants.

Pottery

In a 3 or 6 hour workshop, visitors learn to hand-build and throw forms and to decorate their pieces. Given drying and firing times, we will glaze and send on your work after the workshop is completed.

Mosaic-Making

Use broken tiles, shells, mirror and found objects to mosaic a panel, wall mirror or small piece of furniture with Odette Norman

Jewellery-Making

Learn to string a necklace, ear-rings or make a corsage with beads, silk, feathers and many more elements with local clothing and jewellery designer, Flicky Howe

Painting & drawing

This workshop will include portraiture or still life painting, using acrylic paints, as well as some of the basics of drawing with charcoal and pencils. Visitors will be able to take their work home at the end of the day.

Bookings

Costs vary according to party size and length of class. Group rates range from €50 per person for a 3-hour session or €80 for a full day. The price includes all materials and firings, but courier charges will be added at cost.
