Kinsale Pottery and Arts Centre caters for corporate groups of between 4 and 50 people for sessions lasting anything from two hours upwards. We offer a range of workshop options, and we can provide catering facilities and a reception space if you would like to stay for lunch or an after-class party. Alternatively, if you want to eat in Kinsale, there are several local restaurants which can cater for up to about 50 people in one sitting - ask for details.
You might choose to have all your staff in one class together, or for larger groups of 20 plus, to split into two or three groups, rotating through different classes over a day. Team Building workshops involve games, team art projects and full tuition, and typically last 3 hours. Prices per class depend on numbers, starting at €50 per person for a three-hour class, to include materials, firings (for pottery) and delivery to one location in Ireland (international couriers are charged at cost).
Pottery For a group of between 4 and 20 people in one class, we offer team-building through pottery. This includes the chance for each participant to throw on the wheel, hand-build and paint sculptures and participate in team projects. Each person makes three or four pieces which are then dried, fired and glazed after the class, and all the work is then ready about 2 weeks later.
Splash Attack Paint your own canvas in acrylics - working from still life, produce your own painting, which can be as representational as yuo like or as abstract/surreal as you dare. You'll be given a 30 minute demonstration instructing you on basic colour theory, composition and use of materials, and you'll then have two and a half hours to produce your own painting. Groups can work on larger pieces composed of each individual's 'square'. You might want to focus on a particular theme for the paintings.
Jewellery-making workshop Suitable for smaller groups of up to 12 people, this workshop allows you to make your own brooches, corsages, earings and necklaces, using a range of skills covered in the session - design, threading, knotting, fitting crimps, finishing. Mosaic-making Also suitable for smaller groups, you can create mosaic panels, wall mirror surrounds and covered wooden boxes, using broken ceramic tile, glass beads and found objects such as shells. Working on a single large mosaic panel will allow your group to plan and design as a team, and will result in your finished piece being ready to display in the office!
Bookings Corporate groups can be booked in on weekdays or weekend days, with a week or two's notice. If you would like buffet catering or reception facilities, quotes to suit your purse can be provided. A meeting room is also available if you have business to do while you're here. When you book, a deposit will be taken (by cheque or credit card) and final numbers for the workshop will be fixed about 7 days before the session, on which the final fixed price will be calculated. Invoices can be provided in advance of the workshop, but full payment will be due at the time of the workshop, and not in arrears.
